Adding Delegates for Channels

Adding Delegates for Your Channel

Delegate addresses play a vital role in enabling another address to send notifications on behalf of a channel. A channel can add or remove multiple delegate addresses. While adding channel delegates is a protocol-level call, the recommended and user-friendly way to do it is through the dedicated dApp interface. Here's how to add delegates to your channel:

Using the dApp:

  1. Open the dApp interface for your channel.

  2. Locate the menu, often represented by three dots or a similar icon.

  3. Click on the menu to reveal options.

  4. Look for the "Add Delegate" option and select it.

  5. A new window or section should appear, allowing you to input the addresses that can send notifications on your behalf.

  6. Enter the delegate addresses you wish to add. These are the addresses that will have the privilege of sending notifications on behalf of your channel.

  7. Confirm the addition by following any on-screen instructions or prompts.

Delegate addresses are incredibly useful for ensuring notifications can be sent out from wallets other than the one that originally created the channel. Importantly, only the channel creator has the authority to add or remove delegates at any time, providing full control over the notification-sending process.
